“My wife and I had the most wonderful time with Theo while doing our Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses.

Theo is an extremely competent, patient and capable instructor, who took us from relative novices to skippers in a few weeks. The instruction was great with navigation being planned in the morning and the day spent concentrating on sailing.

We had a bareboat charter planned following the courses and Theo took the time to teach my wife and I some short-handed techniques that came in very useful during our subsequent holiday.

In all, we had a great time sailing with Theo and cannot recommend him enough to anyone who wants to learn to sail or build on their miles.

“Just returned from a great weeks sailing with Theo and completed my Day Skippers course.

Theo is a very experienced sailor and skipper who always seems to have everything under control which results in a very clear and calm instruction. He has the ability to know how to explain everything so everyone understands and he has the patience to do so.

Food was really good and I always found myself looking forward to mealtimes. I even requested the same meal two days running. Provisions were bought in from the local shops in the lovely little harbours we anchored up in every day before sailing.

The evenings ashore still make me smile, with the laughs we had. Pandora was well maintained and very clean.

“I signed up for a weeks Day Skipper course with Theo on board Pandora at fairly short notice having previously done a Competent Crew with another training company. There were just two of us students on the boat, plus Theo the instructor who assisted and fed us.

Theo is an excellent instructor, really calm and careful to explain anything, however basic. He will go over tasks and exercises until you are happy and does not judge when having to say the same thing over and over again. When I got things wrong (frequently) there was no judgement, just positive encouragement. The night sail was an amazing experience in itself and Theo stood back a little and allowed us to figure things out ourselves rather than be standing over us.

When I arrived I was doubtful that I'd be able to skipper a boat after the course but by the end of it, I felt far more confident, even though I know where I need to practice to gain more experience.

The cabins are more spacious than I'd experienced before. I look forward to going back for another course or mile builder in the future and would highly recommend anyone looking for sail training to use Theo.”

“Theo is a natural teacher he was thorough yet relaxed, providing instruction and reason behind the instruction. I had a great week and learned loads. I have been taught various aspects of sailing by a number of "instructors" and Theo stood out head and shoulders above the others. If you want to end your training feeling confident and able I can't recommend Theo enough.

“I can't recommend this sailing experience enough. We were a party of three - two adults and one teenager - with only limited sailing knowledge, but Theo let us take the helm and sail Pandora.

The whole day was very relaxed and informal, with plenty of laughs and good conversation. We were able to swim and use the paddle board, and spend time on some truly beautiful and secluded beaches, which would have been very difficult or maybe impossible to access from the land.

Theo prepared us an excellent lunch of barbecued chicken and salad, with as much wine/beer as we could manage (and there was a lot!). All in all a really fantastic day and the highlight. Thank you Theo for a wonderful time.”

“We had an absolutely fantastic week sailing round some of the stunning locations, while learning the competent crew syllabus.

Their huge experience and relaxed attitude was more than enough to allay even my irrational fear of sailing. Lunches prepared by Sarah were absolutely delicious and recommendations for evening meals were always worth following.

Theo handled the majority of the teaching of the course but both were always available and happy to give extra time for any aspect we needed help with. We came as a family trip with Mum and us two adult kids and even though we have a tendency to argue we got on brilliantly because of the chilled out vibe and by having such a great activity in sailing to keep us occupied.

A brilliant trip with great teachers which is fantastic value. Utterly unique.”

“I have recently completed the RYA Day Skipper practical course with Theo. From the beginning to the end of the course, everything was perfectly organised and I cannot thank enough him for all his help and support.

The Bavaria 39 vessel is maintained to a very high standard and we had our own cabin with a double bed during the entire course. Theo went over the curriculum and he covered all areas methodically and very thoroughly. We had a great time!

I would highly recommend Theo and in comparison to other RYAs schools I have attended in the past, he is simply the best!!!

We have just returned from spending 11 days on Pandora with Theo where we completed the RYA Day Skipper Course.

Theo is a very patient and remarkable teacher. Everything is explained so clearly and he never minded having to go over the same thing until it finally sunk in. The fact that my partner had never been sailing before but under Theo's incredible tutorage he gained his Day Skipper license is a testament to Theo.

I will not pretend that it wasn’t hard work, but with the help, support and encouragement of them both, we were able to achieve our goals. We cannot thank them enough and would recommend them completely.
